Sousveillance Tool
Description
Covid Testing to Cases Comparison
A look at in state data for Covid-19. Using the Covid Act Now Api (https://apidocs.covidactnow.org/). Each state page shows, population, testing results, cases, and deaths. States that have a greater number of negatives tests compared to population, also tend to have a lower proporation of cases to their population. Data is also mapped based of negative tests as it tended to be the highest value.
Reflection
I choose to look into Covid data because we tend to constantly hear about the big overall stuff but don't look at the realtionship of data closely. We have mostly been looking at infections and testing but not both together. The tool implies a relationship in the testing per captia in reducing the cases per captia. I was a bit suprised in the way the data presented itself because I saw a simpler relationship forming. That negative to posistive test rate would be about the same across the board. I used bars for this because it was a simple way to compare multiple relationships about the data. I tried using concentric circles but close data points would consistently get muddled together.
